Jonas Jürgens is an advisor for the Danish Energy Agency (DEA). He has degrees in Geography and Climate Change from the University of Copenhagen. His perspective on the biogas sector is primarily from the resource side, and he has worked extensively with bio-resources and land use in general. He has been with the DEA since 2019, working with policy development supporting sustainable biogas production. Examples include implementing the biogas segments of the second renewable energy directive (RED-II) in Denmark, and developing national criteria for energy crops.
His primary role on the project is to facilitate cooperation between Danish and American authorities to further develop the biogas sector.
