Next week, Thomas Hwan Jensen and Daniel Berman from The Danish Energy Agency will join Chris Voell from The Trade Council Biogas Team in Washington DC for a one week Biogas Go Global mission to the East Coast more notably Washington DC and New York State. In contrast to California, the legislative framework is still being developed in the aforementioned states as well as the conditions for digester systems seems more favourable.
The purpose of the mission is therefore to identify areas where Danish experience can assist the on-going biogas development. Among others, a meeting with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) – the public authority backing the production of renewable energy in the state by implementing the 10 year and $5 billion Clean Energy Fund – has been confirmed with a focus on discussing how biogas can help achieve NYS ambitious Climate Goals in a cost-efficient manner.
